The Youth Humanitarian Advocacy for Development (YHAD-Tanzania) is an independent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) and Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with registration No. 00NGO/00003767 of February 8, 2010. It is registered Section 12(2) of The Tanzania’s Non-Governmental Organizations Act No. 24 of 2002 to operate in Tanzania Mainland.

 

YHAD-Tanzania is lead and managed by competent individuals with a variety of knowledge and skills as well as expertise in various fields. The founders and leaders includes individuals with postsecondary credentials from universities and colleges as well as technical training and diverse work experiences. The aim of the organization is to build capacity, empower and support the youth in Tanzania to acquire knowledge and skills required to improve their socioeconomic status within their families and communities. YHAD-Tanzania accomplishes this through a variety of activities such as education, various training and practice sessions for capacity building and awareness raising. This enables the youth to take positive action, mobilize resources, create opportunities and take advantage of those opportunities, thus leading to socioeconomic improvement and empowerment for the youth, individually and collectively, fostering sustainable development.
