About KYG

Kagondo Youth Group (KYG) is a Community Based Group (CBG) with a common goal of promoting Community Development Initiatives (CDI). It was established in 1996 by Mr. Magongo Justus J. at Kagondo rural area in Muhutwe Ward, Muleba District, aiming at organizing the youth to come together and help each other with the major objective being acquisition of knowledge and skills for self-reliance, transparency and accountability in the process of good governance for poverty and income poverty reduction.

KYG’s Motto: ‘Together We Can’

KYG’s Vision Statement: To foster a vibrant, prosperous and growing young generation through extraordinary community development.

KYG’s Mission Statement: To develop and implement creative community-based strategies to enhance socioeconomic opportunity, advocate for good (open) governance to ensure a dynamic framework for quality growth and development.

KYG Objectives: KYG’s main goal is to be involved with and promote Initiatives for Community Development {ICD} by facilitating and helping the youth, women and vulnerable children to:

a) Acquire formal education, knowledge and skills for self-reliance

b) Participate in promoting transparency and accountability (open governance) in local governments in the process of poverty and income poverty reduction

c) Build capacity and empower the community in various socioeconomic, political, cultural and environmental affairs

d) Partner with other stakeholders and participate in research and community development initiatives
